The Library palette displays all of the items in the library file for the current local site.
To display the Library palette:

Choose Window > Library. |
To add a library item to a document, do one of the following:

Select and drag an item from the Library palette list to the document |

Select an item in the Library palette list, then choose Add to Page from the context menu. |
To open a Library item:

In the Library palette list, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Macintosh) the library item you want to open, and choose Open from the context menu. |

In the Library palette list, double-click the item you want to open. |

Select the item in the Library palette list, then click the Open Library Item icon (the folder icon at the bottom of the palette) to make changes to the item. |

These commands are available in the Library palette context menu.
Create Library Item (document icon) Adds the current selection in the Document window to the library as a new item.
Delete (trash can icon) Removes the selected item from the library.
Rename Renames the selected item.
Open (folder icon) Opens the selected item in a new window for editing.
Add to Page Places the selected library item on the page at the insertion point. There is no icon for this command; you can select it from the context menu.
Select In Site Window Selects the highlighted item in the Document window.
Update Pages Opens the Update Pages dialog box, which allows you to update your site or files that use the library item.
